Security-conscious by default, without the theatre

Most small business exposure comes from configuration and access, not from sophisticated attacks.

Draft content. Published as a working note while the Sentrixus Insights programme is being established.

Security marketing tends to describe adversaries. In practice, the problems we see in small business digital estates are mundane: shared logins, domains registered in a former contractor's personal account, no record of who can publish changes.

Security-conscious delivery means deciding these things during the build rather than after an incident. Who owns the domain. Who holds the hosting account. What the recovery path is if a password is lost. Which third-party scripts are loaded and why.

None of that is glamorous, and none of it justifies claims like 'military grade' or 'unhackable'. Those phrases are a signal that the seller is describing a feeling rather than a control.

Sentrixus applies these practices in the work we deliver today. Formal security assessment services are a separate discipline that requires expertise, authorization, contracts and insurance — and we will offer them when those are in place, not before.
